You may know that Ariana Grande is a teenage TV star who rose to pop superstardom. 1. What is Ariana Grande’s nationality?
The petite songstress considers herself an Italian American even though she was born in Boca Raton in Florida.
2. She was in musical theatre
You may know that Ariana began her career on the Nickelodeon show “Victorious”. But before that, she was in a musical theatre. She performed with the Fort Lauderdale Children’s Theatre as a child and one of her roles included the lead role in “Annie”.
3. What’s Ariana’s dietary preference?
While Ariana has always eaten meat sparingly, she announced she was going vegan in 2013. Realising she loved animals too much, Ariana said to the Mirror newspaper that she loved animals more than people and announced her choice to follow a vegan diet. She’s been a vegan activist ever since.
4. She was sued for plagiarism
Besides becoming a vegan in 2013, Ariana was also sued for copying a lyric from the 1972 song “Troglodyte” for her popular hit “The Way”. The lawsuit reached a confidential settlement in 2015.

In a 2012 interview with Neon Limelight, Ariana revealed that “Over the Rainbow” is the first song she remembers singing. She also shared in the interview that her favourite movie when younger was “The Wizard of Oz”.

Ariana’s impersonation of Jennifer Lawrence stole the limelight on NBC’s “Saturday Night Live”. She showed off her talent for impersonating vocals but she didn’t stop with the “Hunger Games” star. She also impersonated Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera on Jimmy Fallon’s “The Tonight Show”.
9. Shares her manager with other big names
She shares her manager Scooter Braun with other big-name stars such as Justin Bieber, Carly Rae Jepsen, Tori Kelly and Dan + Shay.
10. Scared of stepping into the beauty industry
In 2021, Ariana launched her own cosmetics brand r.e.m. beauty. She wasn’t confident at first and worried about starting a business in a popular industry. Fueled with passion, the singer decided to do it, and have fun by experimenting and playing with the products.
11. Interest in Jewish mysticism
Although Ariana was raised a Catholic, she felt that she resonated with the Kabbalah. She told the Telegraph that she visited the Kabbalah centre in Florida with her brother and felt a connection with it, adding that the tradition is an ancient wisdom that focuses on how to receive fulfilment in one’s life.
